Welcome to Kattilapeli. By using our website and services, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the service.

1. Description of Service

Kattilapeli is a web-based party game designed for social gatherings. The platform allows users to:

  • Create temporary game rooms and invite other players using a room code.
  • Configure game settings (such as response time limits, question limits, and premade question packages).
  • Create and submit anonymous questions and answers (including both open-ended and multiple-choice formats).
  • Join active games in progress or reconnect to a game after network interruptions.

The service is provided as a responsive web application and does not require installation.

2. Right to Use

  • Age Limit: You must be of sufficient age in your jurisdiction to agree to these terms, or have parental/guardian consent if you are a minor.
  • Right to Use: We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable right to use Kattilapeli for entertainment purposes.

3. User-Generated Content and Conduct Guidelines

Since Kattilapeli is based on players writing their own questions and answers anonymously, you are solely responsible for the content you submit. By using the service, you agree not to submit content that:

  • Is illegal, offensive, harassing, defamatory, hateful, or discriminatory.
  • Violates the privacy, intellectual property, or other rights of third parties.
  • Contains malicious code, viruses, or attempts to disrupt the technical operation of the game.

We do not pre-screen user-generated content, but we reserve the right to automatically remove content that violates these guidelines, close game rooms, or block access to users who violate these rules.

4. Intellectual Property

  • Service Content: All rights to Kattilapeli (excluding content generated by users), including but not limited to source code, game mechanics, layout, logos, and pre-made questions, belong exclusively to the developers of Kattilapeli.
  • User Content: By submitting questions or answers in a game room, you grant Kattilapeli a free and temporary right to display and process this content for the duration of that specific game session.

5. Limitation of Warranties

Kattilapeli is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee that:

  • The service will operate completely without interruption, securely, or free of errors.
  • Game state, active rooms, or connection stability will be maintained in all situations (although the system attempts to enable reconnection during an active game).
  • Pre-made questions or content created by other users are suitable for all audiences.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Kattilapeli and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or direct damages resulting from the use of, or inability to use, the service, including the conduct or content of other players in game rooms.

7. Privacy and Cookies

Your privacy is important to us. Kattilapeli is designed to operate as anonymously as possible. We do not store personal data beyond what is necessary to maintain game sessions (such as temporary nicknames, IP addresses to protect the service, and temporary session tokens).
